School Board
The School Board members are ACS parents or grandparents who subscribe to our Statement of Faith and wish to serve by giving direction to the policies that govern the school. The Board is responsible for hiring the Superintendent and approving the school's policies, vision, values, and strategic plan. They receive and respond to reports from each of the school's standing committees. Each committee has at least one board member who acts as the liaison between the committee and the board. The Superintendent is an ex-officio member of all committees and charged with managing the day to day operations of the school. The Board meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. and reviews reports from the Superintendent and all committees. Board meetings are open for ACS families to attend.

Athletics
The Athletic Committee works with the Athletic Director (AD) to give direction to the many sports programs at ACS. They help to raise funds to pay for uniforms, oversee gym rentals, secure referees, and they work with the AD to revise policies and procedures to ensure that we have the best sports program possible.
Development
The Development Committee is responsible for recruitment and retention of students as well as working with other committees in the raising of funds through a variety of means to support the school. They connect with parents, grandparents, staff, and donors to encourage ongoing prayer support as well as pledges and donations that are used to provide for tuition assistance, capital expansion, and the ongoing operational needs of the school.
Education
Each year the Education Committee reviews two or three areas of the curriculum to ensure that we continue to provide the best possible program of instruction. They consider the changing state and national standards, review textbooks from Christian and secular publishers, and make recommendations to the Superintendent regarding any needed changes.
Facilities
The Facilities Committee oversees the maintenance of and ongoing improvements to the school building and grounds. They review the current facilities for safety, appearance, and functionality. They seek out vendors, contractors, and volunteers with the expertise needed to maintain and improve the facilities.
Finance
The Finance Committee is responsible for setting the budget and monitoring income and expenditures throughout the year. They recommend financial policies and procedures to the Board to ensure the long-term sustainability of the school. They review the key elements of the budget (including tuition, fees, salaries, and other expenses) and make recommendations as needed. They present a monthly report to the board that indicates year-to-date income and expenses.
Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF)
The PTF supports and enhances the school program by providing supplies and equipment which fall outside the normal budget. These can range from extra reading books to computer software to video projection units and playground maintenance and expansion. They also support and encourage staff and parents by providing refreshments for many special events through the school year.
Spiritual Formation
The Spiritual Formation Committee is responsible for setting the overall direction of our students' spiritual life. They oversee chapels, service projects, small groups, and the topical themes to be studied week by week in the Middle School and High School chapels and small groups. They provide adult leaders for the high school small groups and leadership training for high school students who lead the middle school groups.
